Microsoft Teams will soon replace Skype for Business

The news that Microsoft will soon stop supporting Skype for Business and plans to transfer everyone to Teams was received by the companies rather calmly, because new customers have been receiving Teams with Office 365 since last year, and old customers can continue to use Skype for Business.

What will happen with Skype for Business Online and Server 2019?

We propose to sort out the dates when the support for Skype for Business will be finally removed.

Starting September 1, 2019, all new customers who purchase Office 365 receive Teams and do not have access to Skype for Business Online.

Skype for Business Online itself will be supported until July 31, 2021. Accordingly, all online and hybrid customers must migrate their users to Microsoft Teams.

The latest version of Skype for Business Server 2019 was released in October 2018 and will tentatively run until January 9, 2024.

How do I prepare to migrate to Microsoft Teams?

Sooner or later, Microsoft will move all of its old customers to Teams. Yet new ones get Microsoft Teams with the purchase of Office 365 and Microsoft 365.

Learning Center "Networking Technologies" has launched a new authorized course  MS-700T00 "Managing Microsoft Teams" .

This course will be useful to those who: become a cloud architect

wants to know what Microsoft Teams is and how all of its components work together;

plans to implement governance, security, and compliance for Microsoft Teams;

Must prepare the organization's environment for deploying Microsoft Teams.

intends to deploy and manage teams;
